Introductions #1
Hello everyone. Kumusta na po kayo? Today, we will study phrases and sentences useful for introduction. (Let's say you just met a Filipino friend and you'd like to know them more.)
Again, every sentence with "po" are polite. You should use them to older people, not to people your age or younger.
How are you?
Kumusta po kayo?
*note that this is very polite, you don't need to use this for a person of same age or younger

I'm fine.
Mabuti po.

**you may answer the question "how old are you" in english Numbers.
**you don't really have to answer the question in Filipino for obvious reason, not even Filipinos answer in Filipino numbers when asked of their age.
BUT, just in case:
_____________+ taong gulang
10 years old - sampung taong gulang

20 years old - dalawampung taong gulang
*dalawang sampu at -> dalawampu't*
20+ = dalawampu't + ____
21 years old - dalawampu't isang taong gulang
22 years old - dalawampu't dalawang taong gulang
*...notice that the pattern repeats.*
29 dalawampu't siyam na taong gulang
30 years old - tatlompung taong gulang
*tatlong sampu at -> tatlompu't*
30+ = tatlompu't + _____
40 years old - apat na pung taong gulang
*apat na sampu at -> apat na pu't*
40 apat na pu't + ____
50 years old - limampung taong gulang

Where do you study?
Saan po kayo nag-aaral?
Saan ka nag-aaral?
Do you still study?
Nag-aaral pa po ba kayo?
Nag-aaral ka pa ba?
And let's say, the person spoke too fast or you did not understand what was asked/said.
You could use these phrases.
Pardon me? (Could you repeat that?)
Pwede pong paki-ulit?
Pwedeng paki-ulit?
What?
