Common Phrases #3 Just A Sec / Later



Hello everyone. Kumusta po kayo? 


Today we will study how to say phrases about procrastination. Err.. If you have to do something or go somewhere, these phrases will be useful. Every sentence with "po" is polite.


Just a second / moment.
Sandali lang po.
Sandali lang.


*people often say "wait lang". it annoys me but I sometimes end up saying it too.


Wait.
Teka lang.


*originally came from "hintay ka lang" lit. meaning "you just wait"


Later, okay?
Mamaya na lang po.
Mamaya na lang.


Later.
Mamaya na.


Tomorrow.
Bukas na lang po.
Bukas na lang.

**I can't explain "na lang" in English.


Example cases: imagine that these are pure Filipino sentences.
Mom: Go wash the dishes!
Me: Sandali lang po!


Brother: Ate, (older sister) please help me with my homework
Me: Mamaya na.*on the computer*


Classmate: Let's ask our groupmates about the project.
Me: Mamaya na lang, okay? I'm still doing something.


Dad: Do your homework now!
Me: Bukas na lang po. I feel sick.
